Peoria Illinois - Home Of Central Illinois Right To Life
Central Illinois Right To Life is located in Peoria Illinois. Peoria is the 3rd largest city in the state of Illinois, population 112,000, and is located close to the geographical center of the state. The area around Peoria is often referred to as Central Illinois. Peoria is located on the Illinois River and on Interstate Highway 74. Peoria is served by the Greater Peoria Regional Airport.
Peoria Illinois is the corporate home of Caterpillar Inc., world's largest manufacturer of earthmoving machinery, construction and mining equipment, natural gas engines, and industrial gas turbines. Bradley University, the College of Medicine of the University of Illinois, Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing, a junior college, and a United States agricultural research center are in the city.
The current Mayor of Peoria Illinois is Bud Grieves. Both the honorable Mayor Grieves and the previous Mayor Jim Maloof are Pro Life. They were both in attendance and delivered addresses at the Sanctity of Human Life Rally sponsored by Central Illinois Right To Life on January 21, 1999 at Sacred Heart Church in Peoria Illinois. The Rev John Queen, pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church, one of the largest churches in Peoria Illinois, gave the Keynote Speech.
