One of the areas of CMDS involvement is bio-ethics which concerns such life and death issues as abortion, cloning, euthanasia, and physician-assisted suicide. Although CMDS is not a lobbying organization in the political sense, it does aim to stand up to the evil aspects of modern culture. Mobilizing Christian doctors to write letters to the editor and speak out publicly is an important function through which CMDS exercises its mission. At the request of the Christian Legal Society, CMDS has filed legal briefs on the physician-assisted suicide issue. CMDS also prepares over one hundred public service announcements each year and distributes them to over 500 radio stations.
